Welcome to the Ickert Teaching Centre
It is our mission to ensure that every participant receives practical, relevant knowledge, as well as acquires new skills, which can be immediately implemented into their everyday practice. We appreciate the commitment of each participant and strive to make this a truly enjoyable, memorable, unique, and most valuable learning experience.

Our small class size, of a maximum 12 dentists, provides an intimate and comfortable environment that is conducive to optimal learning. Furthermore, we believe in an all-inclusive approach. We believe that “principles” are the key, not specific products, philosophies, or brands. We embrace several different systems, products and technologies, realizing that all have many positive attributes, but none exclusively provide all of the answers, all of the time.

Staff members are key partners to any success that we may achieve and thus, we really encourage their attendance at all of these courses. Special attention will be given to ensure that all clinical partners (staff) feel welcome, embraced, empowered, and valued.

Finally, we believe in sharing both our successes and failures. Because it is through understanding the root cause of the failure that we often learn the most. We strive to provide an honest and safe environment emotionally, surgically, and prosthetically for both our patients and participants alike.

About Dental Implants
Here at the Ickert Teaching Centre, we believe that hands-on learning is the key to success. This hands-on learning environment is emphasized in a variety of ways throughout each course. This includes live demo surgeries, relevant lab exercises, and most importantly, actual patient surgeries by each participant who chooses to bring their own patient to the Ickert Teaching Centre.

Dr. Norm Ickert and his entire staff strongly believe in sharing the most current, evidence-based material and techniques in an unbiased manner. This is made possible by Dr. Ickert’s dedication and commitment to continued education. His participation in world-class training seminars, which are hosted by mentors and leaders in the dental industry, allows Dr. Ickert to pass on relevant and science-based information to the participants of the Ickert Teaching Centre.

Independent & Unsponsored Dental Implant Training Centre
The Ickert Teaching Centre is an independent, unsponsored, and thus unique learning environment. Because of this, we have no financial commitment or obligation to promote any specific brand or procedure during the courses. Using evidence-based learning material and techniques, we are openly able to provide a world-class and comprehensive learning experience for all who attend.

Multiple Dental Implant Systems
Due to our independent and unsponsored learning environment, Dr. Norm Ickert is able to discuss the advantages and disadvantages of a variety of dental implant systems. As he has had the opportunity to experience various dental implant systems in his own practice, as well as through his worldwide training endeavours, Dr. Ickert is able to give his insight in a wide array of implant placement situations.

Because of this, Dr. Ickert encourages all participants to operate with their preferred dental implant system when attending the Ickert Teaching Centre courses. Both through his own experiences or through the support of that implant system’s representative, the Ickert Teaching Centre is able to provide a safe and predictable environment for all participants.

An All-inclusive Team Approach
Dr. Norm Ickert strongly recommends the attendance of each participant’s clinical partners (both administrative and clinical) at the Ickert Teaching Centre. This will aid and greatly facilitate the implementation of the newly acquired knowledge and skills obtained throughout the Teaching Centre courses. Our ultimate goal is to provide both the participating dentist and their clinical partners with the confidence to go back to their practices and apply their newly found and developed skills.

Operate on Your Own Patient
To further enhance your learning experience at the Ickert Teaching Centre, we urge that each participating dentist, in addition to their clinical partners, bring their own patient to the course. This unique opportunity will allow you and your staff to perform your desired surgery on a patient you are comfortable and familiar with in a safe and supervised environment.
