I have already taken an implant course at another teaching centre, do I have to start your program with Dental Implant I?
That depends on your level of training and comfort with implant procedures. This can be discussed with Helen Symes at the Ickert Teaching Centre and an appropriate decision can made in conjunction with you.
Dental Implant I and II build on each other and provide a systematic approach to diagnosis, treatment planning, and implementation.
Should I have my administrative personnel or assistant(s) attend the course?
This is strongly encouraged. The courses are designed to be highly inclusive for all team members. Bringing a team member(s) truly maximizes the entire experience at the Ickert Teaching Centre.
Which Dental Implant Systems are being used at the Ickert Teaching Centre?
The Ickert Teaching Centre is completely independent. All implant systems are embraced. (Ankylos, Astra Tech, Biohorizons, Biomet 3I, Nobel Biocare, Straumann, and Zimmer have all been used).
If I choose to operate at ITC, who will I be operating on?
Each participant is encouraged to bring their own patient. This is the key to truly gaining as much as possible from these courses.
What should I bring with me to the course?
Loupes and clinical attire. (Everything else is provided).
Can I bring my partner with me?
Absolutely! ITC will provide suggestions for things to do in the local area. We will also welcome the non-clinical partners to group dinners, if applicable.
When should I plan on arriving and departing from the Ickert Teaching Centre?
For out of town participants, it is highly recommended to arrive the afternoon prior to the course. Due to the early morning start time as well as the time zone difference (Pacific Standard Time - PST), we recommend you give yourself sufficient time to comfortably and safely arrive in BC, and allow yourself time to settle in to your chosen accommodations.
Some participants leave for home on the Saturday night of the course. However, many stay behind and leave the following day (Sunday), to allow themselves some time to see the popular and world-class tourist sites in Beautiful British Columbia.
What if I have specific diet constraints and need a special diet? What is available to me?
ITC makes every effort to accommodate all of our course participant’s dietary needs. We welcome your communication regarding this matter and will help coordinate meals that fit your diet. In order to pre-plan your specific meal options, we ask that you give us advanced notice of your diet constraints so we are able to ensure that you are taken care of throughout the course.
What are the recommended accommodations in the area?
The Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites is located minutes away from the Ickert Teaching Centre and is our recommended accommodation. More details about the Holiday Inn Express can be found online or in the registration Welcome Package that is provided to each course participant.
What is the cost of tuition for the various courses that ITC offers?
The cost of tuition for the three core courses that we offer is $4695.00, including one assistant. For participants who would like to perform a surgical procedure, the tuition increases to $4955.00, to cover the cost of surgery. For participants who would like to bring any additional assistants, the cost per assistant is an additional $375.00.
The Personalized Mentorship Program course tuition is $3850.00, including one assistant. For participants who would like to bring any additional assistants, the cost per assistant is an additional $300.00.
The Additional Courses that ITC offers will be subject to individual pricing schemes that will be released when each course is scheduled.
What methods of payment are accepted at ITC?
At the Ickert Teaching Centre, we strive to provide participants with flexible payment options. Use either VISA, MasterCard, American Express, or cheque to pay for your course tuition.
What deposit is required to hold my spot at an ITC course?
Upon course registration at the Ickert Teaching Centre, a 10% deposit ($500) is required. The balance of the course tuition is due one month prior to the course start date.
What are your policies on course transfers, refunds, & cancelations?
We reserve the right to cancel courses that have insufficient registration. In the case of a course cancellation, the Ickert Teaching Centre will notify participants 30 days prior to the cancellation date and will provide a full and complete refund.
Course participant cancellations that take place more than 15 days prior to the start of the course, will receive a full refund. Those participants also have the opportunity to transfer their funds towards another date or course at the Ickert Teaching Centre.
What if I need to cancel with a short notice due to illness or other unexpected circumstances?
The Ickert Teaching Centre strives to be reasonable, yet has to operate efficiently, thus either a credit or refund will be issued depending on the circumstances.
